Vermont Agriculture, Food, Beverage, Forest and Fiber Product Association Grant Request for Proposal

The Vermont Agency of Commerce has just published notification of a new round of grant funding for associations that help to promote Vermont's food and beverage producers and their products. Its an interesting program for several reasons, and it would be good to understand the kinds of results the Agency intends to produce. Here are a few highlights:

  • Eligible applicants: Vermont-based nonprofit producer association groups that represent and promote Vermont agriculture, food, beverage, forest, and fiber products.

  • Competitiveness: Awards will be made to eligible applicants, in chronological order as applications are received, until funds are depleted.

  • Matching grants only: A 50% cash match is required.

  • Funding limits: Minimum grant is $1,000 and the maximum grant is $2,000.

It is unclear whether a single applicant may enter multiple applications to achieve a higher marketing impact for their association members.

The application period is May 3, 2018 – May 24, 2018 and proposals may be submitted via WebGrants at: https://agriculturegrants.vermont.gov. * Note that applicants are encouraged to register in WebGrants at least one week prior to May 3, to avoid complications at the time of submission.

A total of $16,000 in grant funds are available. Full RFP can be downloaded here:
