Organized by Rockingham Arts & Museum Project and Vermont Performance Lab, this event on April 9 brings together innovators and leaders to share ideas and illustrate how the arts significantly contribute to the health, economy and vibrancy of our communities in Bennington and Windham Counties.

Highlighted topics will include: creative economy data and a panel that will illustrate how creative projects from around the state are addressing housing, accessibility, job creation, education and attracting young professionals and families to the state.
We will hear about Think Vermont, an initiative of the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development and from representatives from the Vermont Creative Network, the New England Foundation for the Arts, Local 64, Next Stage Arts Project, The Putnam Block Development, the Vermont Arts Council, and the Center for Rural Innovation.
The series is for town managers and planners, creatives, legislators, economic development folks and arts and community leaders. All are welcome!

BACKGROUND
The Vermont Creative Network is a broad collective of organizations, businesses, and individuals — all working to advance Vermont’s creative sector. The Network welcomes all creatives and currently benefits from the energies of the many people in visual arts and crafts, performing arts, literary arts and publishing, film and media design, culture and heritage, and artisan foods.This convening offers an opportunity for town planners, creatives, developers and economic development folks to focus on the creative economy. We will share our stories, our resources in our community, successes and failures, new ideas, and network with each other. This will also give town leaders a chance to interact with regional organizations that have capacity and resources to share.
