MiddArch Students Tackle Habitat In Vermont

Middlebury College's intermediate architecture studio hosts an exhibition that traces their process toward creating designs for an affordable, two-unit housing project in Middlebury. The studio, a track of the History of Art and Architecture Department at the College, collaborated with the local Habitat for Humanity chapter in the first part of a three semester long project that is projected to begin construction in the spring of 2019.

Habitat for Humanity provides good quality housing for people who could not otherwise afford their own homes. According to Middlebury's Campus newspaper, the project originated with a student's interest and investigation into local affordable housing issues. With strong initial feedback on the positive aspects of the program -- relevant, hands-on learning and a strong service learning component that is meeting a real need -- there may be opportunities to expand the program in the coming years.

Friday May 11, 3-5PM. The exhibition will open with a reception and live music. More details here.
