[From WCAX. Photo by Jeb Wallace Brodeur for the Times Argus] The Education Agency and Vermont Technical College hosted the fourth annual 3D Vermont event. Middle and high school students researched a historically significant building in their town, then used a 3-D printer to make a scaled-down model of it.
"So it kind of brings the historical perspective but makes it more relevant to the students who were interested in the technology to make it come alive," said Peter Drescher of the Vermont Agency of Education.
"We did a 3-D model of the Goodrich Memorial Library in Newport, which is like a staple of the town almost. It's one of the older structure the Newport and it holds all kinds of information about the town," said Gavin Perry, a senior at North Country Union High School.
The middle school winner was the Castleton Village School. Second place went to St. Albans City School. For high schools, Windsor took first place and Enosburgh came in second.
