Folklife Center Documentary Filmmaking Workshop


No prerequisites or experience necessary - sign up for one or both of these filmmaking workshops!

Documentary Filmmaking Production on Saturday April 7, 10am - 4pm is an introduction to filming interviews, recording professional-quality audio, using a variety of camera techniques, gathering b-roll, doing archival research, and shooting to edit. You’ll practice those techniques and become familiar with equipment available for film production.

Documentary Filmmaking Post-production on Sunday, April 8, 11am - 5pm covers logging interviews, making editing choices, using b-roll, and becoming familiar with editing software. We’ll watch and discuss clips as well as practice editing techniques.

Each of the workshops will be held at the O.N.E. Community Center, 2nd floor, Room 8, at 20 Allen St, Burlington, Vermont.

Cost is $95, ($50 for students)
